Full disclosure: I do have a lot of art supplies that I love, but to be completely honest, you don’t need much to get started. For a long time, I painted with a simple Crayola watercolor set, and even now, I still reach for budget-friendly brushes while painting. That being said, I’ve learned that having higher-quality materials can make the process easier and more enjoyable, and I’ve been so much happier with the outcome of my paintings.
